Frequently asked questions
Do you get to study different religions?
Paper 2 is the Religions paper. We study Christianity as this has the most links to Paper 1 which is Philosophy & Ethics. The Christianity section looks at core beliefs as well as applying it to a range of contemporary issues.
How is the course examined?
The course has two papers, both three hours long. There is no coursework element. The good news is that the question styles always remains the same, which allows you to quickly build on and develop your exam technique.
What is Philosophy?
Half of Paper 1 is ‘Philosophy of Religion’. Here, the philosophy you study looks at issues such as the existence of God, evil and suffering and religious experience. Philosophy focuses on some of the ‘big questions’ in life, ones that often are unanswerable!
