This course aims to deepen your interest and enjoyment of History as well as developing your ability to analyse key events and themes and evaluate source evidence.

What topics do we study?
At A Level, you will study Germany and West Germany, 1918-1989; the Rise and Fall of Fascism in Italy, c.1911-46 and the British Experience of warfare, c.1790-1918. You will also complete coursework that focuses on Slavery and its Abolition, c1730-1833.
How will the course be assessed?
You will sit three, external examinations in the summer of your second year. Each paper focuses on one of the topics listed above. You will start your coursework input at the end of Year 12, your coursework is worth 20% of your overall grade.
What support do you provide?
Students will receive support during their History course through revision sessions and extra materials that are provided in lessons to help you study the topics further at home. Students can also arrange to meet their teachers 1-1 in their frees, if extra support is needed.
