Welcome to SM6, Hull and East Riding’s only genuinely World Class Sixth Form and lead World Class school for the North of England.
I hope this virtual open event convinces you that, as far as post-16 education is concerned, you need look no further than SM6. First and foremost, we have a long history of outstanding academic achievement; we have been the leading post-16 provider in the region for the past 7 years, and in 2019, perhaps most pleasingly, we achieved the highest ‘value-added’ score of any post-16 state-provider with a statistically significant cohort, not just in Hull, but in the East Riding too.
Yet we are much more than just a results factory; indeed, we believe our academic success is founded upon our Catholic ethos which informs our outstanding pastoral care system, all of which means we go the extra mile to ensure all of our students are happy and well looked after.
We also have an outstanding extra-curricular offer at St Mary’s; an offer described by OFSTED as ‘as good as it gets’. This offer includes our Academies of Sport and Performing Arts & Music, a partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company as well as our unique Medical Health and Social Care Academy, amongst many other things.
